Square Foot Gardening.  Sunday January 28th  2 - 4 p.m
Square-foot gardening uses intensive planting methods to grow edible plants in a small area. Carol will guide you through this space-saving method of gardening, perfect for people short on room and time, or anyone new to vegetable gardening. She will discuss how to plan and lay out a square-foot garden, how much to plant and how to properly space your plants or seeds.
Sensational Salvias. Sunday / Feb. 11 / 2 - 4 p.m.
Salvias comprise the largest genus of the mint family and are a popular feature of Southwestern landscapes because of their hardiness and vibrancy. Learn how to incorporate the biennials, perennials and woody shrubs of the Salvia genus for a striking and colorful addition to your garden
Growing Great Chilies. Thursday / Feb. 15 / 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
The cool days of fall are perfect for savoring the flavors of chile peppers! Fall is the time to choose the varieties you want to start from seed indoors. From the history of chiles and peppers to the vast variety available today, you will learn the secrets to growing, harvesting and using this flavorful plant.
Garden Weeds. Wednesday / Feb. 21 / 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Do you have problems with weeds in your vegetable garden? Weeds not only compete with vegetables for space, water and light, but can harbor pests and diseases. Join Carol Stuttard in identifying the most common weeds in low-desert gardens and learn how to deal with them in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Compost 101. Saturday | March 24 | 10 a.m. - Noon
Tossing out rinds, crusts and even weeds is a waste of free fertilizer. Composting creates an environment for microorganisms to decompose landscape waste and food scraps, transforming them into black gold for your garden. Hot or cold, quick or slow, contained or not, creating compost is something everyone can do.
Spring Vegetable Gardening. Wednesday | March 28 | 10 a.m. - Noon
Spend the plentiful spring season outside, planting and harvesting fresh ingredients for your salads, stir-fries and more. Carol teaches you how to grow your own healthy, organic spring vegetable garden, including planning, soil preparation, varieties to plant and, most importantly, the right time to get seeds in the ground.
Free-Range Chicken Gardens.  Saturday | April 14 | 10 a.m. - Noon
 Learn how to create a fabulous garden where chickens can happily roam. Select the right plants for your chickens and which ones to avoid. In addition to delicious eggs, chickens also provide a free pest control service while adding fertilizer to your soil.
What's Wrong with My Vegetable Garden?  Wednesday | April 18 | 10 a.m. - Noon
 Vegetable gardeners beam as they fill their harvest baskets with fresh, chemical-free produce. However, a multitude of challenges come from insects, diseases and mysterious ailments that can be difficult to diagnose and treat. Join Carol as she prepares you to keep your organic vegetables healthy, vigorous and less vulnerable to attack.

Explore Organic Gardening.  Monday | March 19 | 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
 Why go organic? Examine the basics of organic gardening and discuss the benefits of working with nature, rather than against it. Discuss the adaptability and resilience of plants while exploring genetically modified plants and their role in the environment. Students also learn about the fruits and vegetables that can be successfully grown in the desert.
Importance of Soils. Monday | March 26 | 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
To reach maximum yields and flavor, smart gardeners mimic the dynamic mix of microbial growth and organic decay found in natural soils. The optimal way to introduce these nutrients is through manures, compost and organic fertilizers. Learn about these organic soil amendments, their role in developing and maintaining healthy soils, and how they affect pH levels. Students are asked to bring two glass jars with lids (16 oz. or more) and enough soil from their gardens to fill the jars.
Seeds, Germination and Planting. Tuesday | April 3 | 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
 You reap what you sow-so be sure you have the right seeds! In this class, students learn the uses of different types of organic seeds and the difference between heirloom and hybrid seeds. Seed collection and storage, germination, light requirements and planting seasons will be discussed.
